Dead End

poetry
Written by Heather Harwood
Car idling at night, at a dead end

You reach this dead end
Where do you go?
Back?
Pave a path?
What?
You sit in the car
Engine running
Numb calm
Sitting
Thinking
You’ve reached this dead end
